About Lois

Raised on a farm in rural Ontario, my parents always had a large garden – probably about 3 acres – plus their livestock.  From a young age I was taught how to process and prepare all the food we ate.  Take out or restaurant food was rare, usually on special occasions, and it was considered a real treat.  All our food was prepared and cooked at home, no frozen meals or pre-packaged cookies.  In fact, I think I first baked cookies from scratch when I was 4 or 5.  Cooking, baking and canning are in my genes.

I spent over 30 years working in municipal government and at retirement I have found the time to truly grow my passion for creating healthy homemade foods.  Over the past couple years I discovered that the art of cooking at home is becoming lost in the convenience of premade food delivery and take out.

By creating The Pantry Cupboard, my goal is that everyone can have meal mixes in their cupboard that are shelf stable and only need no or a few extra simple ingredients to create a hearty, healthy meal.  Plus, of course, a sweet treat or two that is just as easy to make.

The heart symbols featured in our logo signify the genuine care and dedication infused into each package mix.

I hope you will enjoy these meals and treats as much as my family and friends do.
